Saracen archers

Here we have a unit of medium archers for my Saracen collection.

They are painted more for speed then details. Just adding that extra when it is needed as these are just regular rank and file troops. Its more then enought for an mass battle game.
Over all im happy with the end result.

The miniatures are mostly Gripping Beast plastics with some metal miniatures tossed in for that added variation.

Beduin light cavalry

More light cavalry for my Saracen force...

This time its a Beduin unit. I went with a little lighter tones then the Sudanes and added more red. The theme was white, red and light blue.

The miniatures are a mixture of Old Glory metal miniatures with new spears ( I hate bendy metal spears that always bends or snap...), the new spears and the miniatures the unit is mixed with is Gripping Beast plastic light cavalry.
The horses didnt match that good but I hope it will not be to apparent on the table top later on. The sizes of the horses are really notable unfortunately but the rider not so much.
The Old Glory miniatures are really funny and full of character, they are noted as 25mm on their American site and it is unfortunately. Had they been a little larger I would have bought lots more of them.

Crusade era Sudanese heavy cavalry

I wanted to have some heavier punch with my Sudanese forces so I have finished this unit of heavy cavalry with spears.
I kept the previous colour tones of lots of brown and blue but with some fancier clothes and a little more colours and details, that and armour...

The miniatures are mostly Gripping Beast plastics but with one metal miniatures tossed in as the standard bearer, some new heads and new shields
I wanted to have a little fancier unit that still looked to match my previously painted light infantry.

Frälse från Erikska ätten

Here we have some noblemen from the House of Erik

They are intended for my Scandinavian medieval project but could easily be but into other medieval settings as dismounted knights or heavy infantry.

Sverkerättens krigsmän

I have a couple of halfpainted miniatures laying around in a drawer, and Im slowly working to finish at least some of them of.
Here we have a unit of infantry that is meant to represent men belonging to the House of Sverker in my Mediaeval Scandinavian slow slow growing project.

The belong to the same house as the previously painted knights. http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.com/2018/11/riddare-fran-sverkeratten.html

But I have painted them rather generic so I could really toss them in into any medieval project really.

The miniatures are a mixture of different makers and parts but are mostly Fireforge Games and Gripping Beast. I feel that mixing the parts around makes for a much more non-uniform and more interesting unit.

When I took the pictures I noticed that I had already managed to brake of the end of one spear, oh well I guess they will be veteran miniatures before they even hit the gaming table.

Bågskyttar tillhörandes Eriksätten

I just painted a couple of archers for my medieval Scandinavian project.
http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.com/search/label/Medieval%20Scandinavia

The miniatures are a combination of plastic bits from different makers and a couple of metal miniatures tossed in to the mix for that added variation. But most of the miniatures are from Gripping Beast plastic archers, and I must say that I rather like them. Much so then I first thought I would.

They are painted rather generic but are intended to represent a group of archers belonging to the House of Eric.

I wanted more archers as I have the plan to one day set up the battle of Lena in 1208.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Lena

The miniatures are speedpainted as these are more rank and file miniatures and not some noblemen in newly washed clothes. The miniatures are not even highlighted... They deserves better then this but I wanted to clear up some older miniatures I have had half painted for ages and this felt like the right way to do it. Sorry...

They are all based on 40x40mm mdf bases for easy movement and to easy change up the formation or move around terrain on the table.
I think 40x40mm is a nice balanced size for this.
