Weglaf of Arnholdt's Hill

Weglaf of Arnholdt's Hill

Another hero for my Norsemen.
The miniature are from Red Box Games.
Im not sure what special rules to give him in the games I plan to use him but he sure looks like and stubborn fighter clad in scale armor and with a mighty hammer to smite his foes.

I painted the scale armor with just a small shade of blue, maybe it is a handy work of a dwarf.
And as a hero he can afford those fancy pants.

By the way, Tre is running an Kickstarter project to fund the casting on some new miniatures for Red Box Games. Do check it out if you havn´t allready.

The Seven Dwarves…

I had these excellent looking dwarves in my possession for some time now but never got around to paint them. Somewhat intimidated by all those details and the potential, I didn´t want to ruin them. But then one day I said to my selves that I could at least start by priming them and then just add one color at the time. And by doing so I got them painted.

The miniatures are from Red Box Games and I think Tre is one of the very few sculptures that manage to do dwarves justice. Most dwarves these days are either hero scale, totally over the top and some even to comical. These dwarves I think looks like they could exist, they are believable.
When I painted these I wanted them to resemble my Norsemen in color palette but making their weaponry, armor and anything metal look a little special.
So I added some extra colors to the metal pieces, some are going red, some blue and so on to show the dwarves almost magical cunning with finding rare metals, the metalwork and alloys.

And as of a coincidence I noticed that I got seven dwarves, which must mean I must find me a miniature that could work as a Norse version of Snow-white…

Tre is currently running a new Kickstarter campaign and this time its all lead...

Looks promising, and it has allready had its basics funded so now its all about stretching the goal.

Ljósálfar

Ljósálfar

The Ljosalfar is not of this world but is resident at the world of Ālfheimr, home of the Vanir Frej

The Ljosalfar is a strange people "fairer than the sun to look at" full of mystic and grace.

I wanted to paint them differently from all my previously miniatures. I wanted them to be supernatural, with a light skintone. To show they are not of this world.

Goblin archers

I just finished six new goblins.

I fought that I should do a tutorial with these and took lots of paint in progress on these but as most of my painting is done late at night that meant that it was to crappy light for my camera and all of the pictures ended rather bad.

I better soon get me a new camera for taking photos late at night. But the good thing would be that then I could justify for myself to get new goblins as well…

These lovely miniatures are from Red Box Games.

Bear cavalry…

Bear cavalry…
Bloodmaw and Horsebane from Red Box Games.

Can it be more bad-ass then riding a bear…? Well maybe if you are also covered in blue warpaint and swinging a big sword over your head. By a strange coincidence this models does just that…
