World of Twilight unboxing...
I just got a box of Twilight miniatures...
So whats in the box I hear you say.
Well... packing material.
And miniatures...
I wanted to have some special alien critters for npc:s or part of terrain scatter. Having looked at the World of Twilight (http://shop.worldoftwilight.com) for ages it was fun to finally get some. I dont know much about their actual game but it is something special about the miniatures.
And for scale, here is an 30k marine miniature.

Kickstarter deliverance - Astropolis II - The Galactic Melting Pot
I just got the miniatures from Lead Adventure Miniatures kickstarter Astropolis II - The Galactic Melting Pot.
I had told my self I would do kickstarters any more as they seldom keeps the expected timeframe or have some problems with quality and so on. But this kickstarter was exactly as nice as I had hoped and kept its time.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/822163699/astropolis-ii-the-galactic-melting-pot
So whats the idea of this purchase then...
The plan is to add to the old lead mountain... Beside getting some fun miniatures to paint I hope to be able to use them as NPCs in games or maybe as officers and engineers in my 40k and 30k armies.

Late night ordering..
While
working on the final steps of my thesis in a distance course I have studied,
one of many late nights resulting in that rather studied I ventured into hobby
pages instead… One fruit of these late night purchase arrived yesterday…
An order
from http://war-bases.co.uk/
I did get a
little of everything.
I guess that’s just show that when put onto pressure, lacking sleep from all to many late nights in a row from the studies, disturbed sleep when you finally having gone to bed by the little ones, you rather easily takes random small brakes into the world of your hobby.

But on the
plus side I hope to have more free time now to work with all the late night
purchases now when the thesis is handled in. :D
About the War-bases order, I got a little of everything.
Small round bases with the intension of maybe future 15mm Lions Rampant like games using the ideas originally from Michael “Dalauppror” but scaled down like “Mr.J” from http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=85854.0
Some small
ladders and warmachines intended for my Crusading project.
Some
animals both to the Crusaders and to my Norsemen.
A compass
to games like Trafalgar and its like.
Some
movement trays.

Pilgrims
The first pilgrims have arrived to the holy land. I have had trouble finding hobby time or inspirations as of late but I have managed to at least finish of these two pilgrims.
No advanced paintjob but they will fill their part on the gaming table none the less.
I dont remember where they are from Im afraid.

Birds
Just a small update.
Some birds to add detail to the gaming boards or maybe could be used as objectives.
Nothing fancy, just a quick paintjob, but it will do.
Two ducks and a hen and a rooster, they are based on 25mm flat bases from Renadra and the miniatures are from Magister Militum.
http://www.magistermilitum.com/type/figures.html?cat[]=61928#order=name&limit=36&p=undefined&dir=ASC&cat[]=61928&cat[]=59633
I tried to base them rather generic so I can toss them into all sorts of games and settings.

Muslim scholar
I painted another miniature from Midlam Miniatures and I really like the somewhat cartoonish appearance.
Eventually I will have a full court to accompany my Commander or townspeople to fill a small town. I really like these civilian bystanders that could be used as a way of adding that extra detail to a game board.

Packcamel
Another camel caravan for my collection.
The miniatures are from Midlam Miniatures
http://www.midlamminiatures.co.uk/arabian-nights.html
I now got two camels and handlers for my caravan.
It might not be as good looking as the one from AA miniatures but I still like it.
I gave it the same base with as my other camel but a little shorter as it didnt fill it out as good.

Arabic workforce
I just finished a small workforce. Im not sure what to use them for yet. If they are meant to be used in sieges, objectives, rabbles to toss into the meat grinder or just as civilian "terrain pieces" to lift the gaming table.
Ever since I first saw the diggers from Westwinds mummy range I knew I wanted them. I wasnt to sure of what to use them for and in what game but I knew I wanted them. http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_37&products_id=337
Many years later I finally got them.
The rest of the workforce is made up out of Gripping Beast plastic Arabs with some extra tools also from GB. http://www.grippingbeast.com/product.php?ItemID=2301
And to make it looks like they are holding the tools I used some left over arms from some Wargames Factory bits.
I was given a sprue or two of Wargames Factory Vikings some years ago and besides being rather boring miniatures the compositions of the sprue's was really strange and I ended up with lots and lots of extra arms, and finally I had some use for them...
Im guessing having a unit of mixed metal and plastic miniatures will be a little strange when you will have to move the miniatures on a gamingtable because of the weight differences..
I gave them a quick paintjob and tried to keep a toned downed colours palette but for the time I gave them Im happy with the result.

Egyptian merchant
Here we have a baggage train in the form of a merchant or something simular.
The camel and its handler is from AA miniatures http://www.aandaminiatures.co.uk/view_product/?p=177
When I painted him I thought I didn´t would have to go back and correct the mistakes of the details of his clothes, particularity the blue dots on the white.
But this close up pictures really shows where I was lazy...
No matter, it will probably never gets noticed on the table, just in these picture.
An while I was at it I took some better pictures of the Arabic heavy cavalry seen in the last post.
Better lights makes difference...
