Norse Archers

I finally managed to finish a small historical unit.

These Norse archers are from Conquest Games medieval archers set.

I havnt been all to impressed by their previous plastics but these are rather nice. Its a big step up from the cavalry and the infantry they done previously. So these I recommend.

I accidental dropped these on to a stone floor so some of there bows took some damage.
And the pictures are not the best, not giving them proper justice.
Not a great start for these miniatures but I guess these will be rugged veterans before they even take part in their first battle so

Dropzone Commander painting competition

I won an painting competition on Hawk wargames forum for some of my work with my Shaltari and just found these in my mailbox...

One double decker battlebus and one metal ship of their future Dropfleet Commander game, a New Orleans class Strike Carrier...

I really thought I had about till summer or maybe autumn before I had to think about a colour scheme for these ships...

Lifesign...

I thought it was about time to give an lifesign... My hobby time havnt been what it use to. My little son is getting teath and I have had a lot at work besides all regular things that takes times from painting miniatures.

My gaming club is running an Escalation campaign for 40k to motivate members to get more painted miniatures. I have tagged along with my Death Korps. We started at 500pts and will expand as time goes.

Here are my 500.
HQ Quartermastern
Troops 2x Grenadiers
Fast attack Death riders
Heavy support Quad launcher

There are a lot of work still but things start to look good.

But I havnt forgotten the historical part of the hobby. Here are some work in progress of some plastic Norse archers from Conquest games.

Red Box Games Kicktstarter: "Warbands of the Cold North"

Just a small heads up for those interested.
Tre at Red Box Games are running a new Kickstarter, this time to be able to make plastic Norsemen.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1103158358/warbands-of-the-cold-north-epic-viking-28mm-miniat

Tre is one of my favourite sculptors and I wish him the best of luck with this.

With this kickstarter we plan to fund the production of Fantasy themed warband starter sets for use in skirmish table top gaming. With each warband set containing all the basic elements needed to play a game of any of a variety of popular table top skirmish games. At the outset, each starter box will contain 5 semi modular warrior figures repeated three times per box for a total of 15 miniatures. These figures include 4 weapon and shield warriors and one archer.
It is my hope to be able to expand the offering in each starter box as the funding allows me to afford more molds. These expanded offerings might include additional troop types for expanded tactical variety or alternate sculpts to replace repeated sculpts for greater variety.
The first Warband Set offered is Njorning hirdmen set which includes ;12 hirdmen warriors, and 3 huntsmen. Each of the hirdmen is semi modular being fitted for universally interchangeable heads and right hand options. The right hand options included with the set are 2 swords, 2 axes, a mace and a spear repeated three times in the box for a total of 18 weapon options. There are also 6 different head options repeated three times in the box as well for a total of 18 head options. The archer model is fitted only for a modular head.

"Hildegard" Medusa, work in progress pics.

Here she is, Hildegard.
There are still lots of work before she is "done", but she is starting to look good now.
I have plan to add crew to her, more dirt effects, paint the mud on the tracks and work more with the paint chipping, numbering, maybe the "Assault brigade, crossed axes on a scull"symbol and so on and so on...

The mascot, an American WW2 bomber pinup was a must as her sisters also got those. It took some time to get it decent but Im happy how she turned out.

But she looks brutal now... :D

wip, Medusa 40k

Some new Work in progress shots on the Medusa. Still a long way to go untill I can call her ready. I plan to add crew later on. But she is now what i would class as tabletopp, playable,  I could take her out for a spinn on the gaming table. Shes got the basic camouflage and dark gray on some parts as well as some skratches.
Here she is equiped with a hull mounted heavy flamer borrowed from a Macharius. I will have to give her, her own hull weapons.
