Crusade, Lion Rampant AAR
My friend Håkan and I dusted of our Crusader project for another game of Lion Rampant... Man Have I missed this game.
We rolled a scenario and it was decided that the Westerners from the County of Tripoli would defend a sacred tomb from a saint.
The forces from the Ayyubid Egyptians was our for an raid and why not topple an old statue when in the neighborhood...
My Ayyubids led by Kareem Sabbagh compromised of mounted Sergeants with bows representing the regular Ayyubid cavalry, some Turkoman horse archers, a small unit of Turkic archers (bidowers) and a unit of Azerbajani swordsmen (Fierce foot).
The troops under the command of Theophile Beacall was compromised a couple of units of "lighter cavalry", Mounted Sergeants, Foot Seargeants and some Crossbowmen.
The defenders of the saints grave.
Troops from the County of Tripoli ready to engage the enemy.
The raiding force from the Ayyubid Egyptians...
The Turkoman horse archers moves through the mountain pass.
Mounten Sergeants in all their glory...
Arrows starts to fly as the mountain sergeants closes in...
After a intense fight, he last mounted sergeant from his unit dueling a lone Turkoman....
And both combatants have had enough and redrews from combat...
The Azerbajjani goes crazy and charges out of the forest...
Theophile Beacall are seen here closest on the picture.
Theophile Beacall pulls back, ready for counter assault...
And charges the Turkomans...
Meanwhile after the initial loosening of arrows the Ayyubids charges in...
Theophile Beacall cleans house...
My lone Turkoman tries to outflank the Tripolitanians and engage the statue from behind...
The Ayyubid cavalry under the command of Kareem Sabbagh loosen a hail of arrows against the crossbowmen.
And the crossbowmen shatters completely...
And a hole in the crusaders line has been opened... Enough for Kareem Sabbagh and his men to ride through...
And the statue of the saint is toppled...
Inshalla... The Ayyubids raiding force under the command of Kareem Sabbagh are victorious...
Theophile Beacall are occupied slaughtering saracens on the flank at the moment...
That was a really really fun and simple game. I had forgotten how good and easy this game really is.

Solar Auxilia Legate Commander Ryabov Vaniamin and friend, wip
Here are some Work In progress pictures of my Solar Auxilia Legate Commander and his new friend...
The Legate Commander is a HQ option for the Solar Auxilia that are rarely used, he is the cheaper option of the much better Lord Marshal but fills the same role.
I plan to use these miniatures in a low point Zone Mortalis game and of such I wanted to have a lower point commander. I kitted him with a lot of equipment so he ended up costing a lot of point in the end.
The Legate Commander is more or less done, I just want to add some details on the base.
For the Castelax I will need some more highlights and maybe some more weathering besides something more on the base. Besides this I want to add more detailing with symbols, markings or transfers. But I have not decided on what or how. Maybe add some white or black checker marks on the red shoulder, white stripes or something else.

Oh, and if the robot starts to act weird I always got the old "trusty" plasmapistol to take him down... Yeah, that will work... Its enough...
Edit:
The Legate Commander have now earned a name in the campaign of the Parvana Mahrukh system we play and will from here on be known as Legate Commander Ryabov Vaniamin.

Dismounted Knights of Saint Lazarus
Here we have a small unit of dismounted Knights from the Order of Saint Lazarus, The Leper Brothers of Jerusalem.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_Saint_Lazarus
This was a really fun unit to build and paint.
The main parts are from Fireforge Games but I switched it around with two metal miniatures that I dont remember where they were from and plastic bits from the Frostgrave Cultist box. I used the undead/ zombie heads but painted them in regular skin colours but with some added blood for that "nice" leprocy feeling... And I think the undead head was great.
For the painting i went for a white tunic with green crosses. I tested some different cross designs for the hauberk and the shields for fun, but I think the one that looks best is the standard "boring" cross and not any of those fancy Maltese cross designs.
The standard plain cross is probably the most historically accurate, the other ones looks a little to fancy... But I never claimed to be historically accurate, I only try to be semi historical accurate with some artistic freedom sprinkled in for looks.
The white/green with dark chainmail and brown leather is a really nice and striking design.
This could be a nice design to work further with.
Maybe expand this for a whole Lion Rampant warband sized force one day.
But here is the small 8 man strong dismounted knight strong unit I made just for fun.
