Chasseur à Cheval

I have painted a unit of Chasseur à Cheval, a Napoleonic light cavalry unit. These are not as flashy as the Hussars but filled a simular role on the battlefield.

The Chasseurs à Cheval were cheaper to equip and were more numerous, so I thought it whould be best to start of my cavalry branch with these...

Napoleonic French

 

It was time to take some army photos, to make a little inventory of my growing Napoleonic French force.

I just love these army pictures, they always looks even more impressive with their friends together like this.

So this is were I am at the moment, two unit of line infantry, two light infantry skirmishers, a small elite unit of Old guard and some officers but I have already started to paint on more that will be shown when they are ready.

Its starts to actually look somewhat like and army, still to small for what Im aiming at but its growing... 

Napoleonic French Old Guard Chasseurs

 

I just painted a small unit of Old Guard Chasseurs.

Years ago I bought a single sprue of Victrix miniatures Old Guard Chasseurs that I had intendet to use in skirmish games like Songs of drums and shakos or something, but that never came to be. But I have given them some love now with my reentry into Napoleonics.
I had some extra miniatures with long coats so it was enough to form a small unit i Black Powder terms.

And together with the unit I also painted two wounds markers, two wounded miniatures from Perry miniatures that I based on a round 40mm base with a flat area to place a dice for the wounds number.

Turnips for turnip28

I thought it was time for some new terrain for Turnip28, and so why not some monsterturnips...

French line infantry

 
I just painted another unit of line infantry for my french Napoleonics.


The miniatures are a mixture of Perry and Victrix miniatures.
There are a lot of steps before they are all painted but now my second line infantry unit is painted. The collection is growing.

Now I need to baseprime more Napoleonic units... 

French Napoleonic infantry

 

I just finished a unit of line infantry for my Napoleonic french.
The miniatures are are Victrix. I just love the older bicorne hats.

I painted them rather rugged, with different colours on their pants and some with patches to really emphasize the dirty feel of troops on campaign.

The grenadiers and voltigeurs are based on single bases for skirmishing play and the fusiliers are based on multibases for easier movement on a larger battlefield. A sort of mix of both worlds.

The infantry officer on foot is newly painted but the mounted officer is painted previously but have been given a new base.

The officer is joined by a small white cat.

And combined with the previously painted Voltigeurs I now got this small force to field. And its only growing...
