Tarasque - Leman Russ assault transport

Tarasque - Leman Russ assault transport.

I am finished with these heavily armed troop transports for my Death Korps of Krieg collection.

They are based on the Leman Russ chassis. By removing the turret and move the engine block to one side, combined with the extended troop transport areas the Imperium have built a heavily armoured troop transport bristling with guns.

The design of the Tarasque assault transport is heavily inspired by the artillery vehicles based on the Leman Russ chassis used by the forces as the Solar Auxilia some 10 000 years in the past from the timeline of 40k.

The name Tarasque was taken from a really strange mythological creature

The tarasque was described as having a lion-like head, a body protected by turtle-like carapace(s), six feet with bear-like claws, and a scaly tail like a serpent's tail in a text (pseudo-Marcelle or pseudo-Marcella) which is similar to and roughly coeval with the Golden Legend, and issued poison breath according to one hagiography (pseudo-Raban Maur) of perhaps somewhat later date.

Sounds like a really ugly beast, perfect for my special homebrew vehicle.

Work in progress pictures of these beast can be fount at:

Rulewise they will use the Leman Russ tanks stats, but with two pintle mounted options. The turret is removed and a it can transport. There are small doors on the sides and Im thinking its enough for a scrawny guardsman living on corps starch rations, and I added a larger door at the rear.

The Mechanicum sculls looking over the engine, blessing it with its gaze...
Hey it might work, best not to upset the machinespirit...

All the weapons are swappable to give me added tactical flexibility. The main idea  with the project is just to fill all the weapon mounts with heavy bolters but maybe I will change my mind for a future game. Now I have the option.

The Tarasque seen here with a dismounted tank commander and a guardsman.
