Victrix Vikings

I bought some Vikings from Victrix limited and goth damn... These are by far the best plastic miniatures I ever seen.

So here are the first batch of the Vikings I painted.

The miniatures are really nice detailed, really nice scale and have lots of variations and movement to them.

I based the miniatures to be used in massed games like Hail Ceasar or Lions Rampant (with wounds marker or if I paint up more single miniatures for wounds swapping).

Viking Rus Hirdmän

This unit was fun to paint...

A viking Hirdmen unit with a more Rus feel to it.
As a Swede its more natural to look at the viking expeditions to the east instead of to the west.
I think the eastern expeditions, trades and establishments, wares, equipment and clothings are far more interesting then the "British centred" view we usually see in tabletop games and movies.

The miniatures are all plastic.
Some of the bits used are from:

Gripping Beast

Fireforge Games
https://fireforge-games.com/medieval-russians/18-russian-infantry.html
https://fireforge-games.com/men-at-arms/13-foot-sergeants.html

Northstar; Frostgrave:

And before you say it, yes I noticed I had forgotten to paint the side of the bases. Shame, shame I know. I will have to fix that.

All the shields are hand painted.

The banner have an sign or rune that are meant to protect against evil magic. Might come in handy in the deep forests full of trolls, jötnars and evil witches...

Norse Bondi archers

I wanted some new Bondi archers for my norsemen and I got it here. The miniatures are a mixture of bits but for most part it is Conquest Games nice plastic archers but Ive added bits from Gripping Beast Hirdmen and Fireforge Games plastic russians as well as some more bits.

The plan is to have these as two small bidower/ skirmishers in Lion-/ Dragon Rampant and combine them two one unit in larger types of games as Hail Caesar.

Viking Bondi

Here we have a small unit of Norse Bondi

The miniatures are a mixture of Gripping Beast plastic Dark age warriors, Frostgrave Barbarians and some metal miniatures from a maker I can remember, but I really liked them.

I tested to use cloth on the banner this time. I painted it yellow and then a runic symbol.

The plan is to use them in Hail Caesar or Lion/Dragon Rampant.
