Danish knights

I thought that Ebbe Sunesen Hvide couldn´t be alone so I have converted and painted some knights for him.

They are meant to represent knights from, or bearing the colours of the Danish Hvide family with some modifications and alterations to have a more lively unit.

I have mixed in some Griping Beast Hirdmen heads and given some of them axes to show their Norse heritage...
I was some horses short and thus I have to mix in some Perrys War of the Roses horses but I think it worked out fine. And as everything else, Perry does some nice looking horses.

Those FireForge miniatures are sure fun to put together.

And combining these with some Danish Sergeants I painted a while ago I can make up a rather nice looking unit.
It might look a bit strange with half of them in red and half of them in blue though..

Hell dorado – Candle

I painted another Lemure, Candle has to be one of my favorite sculpts.

I tried to paint it as the burning tail casting a warm light and a blue daylight from the other side. I realize that’s their not much daylight in hell but I like the effect.

Hell dorado – Ringhioso

Here we have Ringhioso from the game Hell dorado, another Lemure in hell.

I went for a brown-yellow tone on this one.

The first picture is taken in one of my flowerpot. It made a nice background I think.

Hell dorado – Elvdos

Here we have another Lemure fron the Hell dorado game.

It’s just a lovely model. Its almost painted itself.

I went for a red color and shaded it gently against purple.

The eyes are painted in gold color as I wanted a unnatural look, it doesn’t show that much on the pictures unfortunately.

Hell dorado - Prizrak

Hell is populated by many strange spirits and souls. Some are great demons that torment the wicked but some are small souls commonly known as Lemures, they are at the absolutely bottom of the hierarchy in hell. Small insignificant souls of fallen. When they grow they could eventually evolve to a fallen one, a demon or such but at this stage they are in no real power.

But what the people exploring hell has discovered is that when they are feed strange spices or rare materials they can give there master magical abilities or used as a weapon when feed materials that make them explode. Exactly what makes them do each attribute is not fully explored.

This miniature is named “Prizrak” and is a Lemure in the Hell dorado game.

I painted it in rather bright colors and tried to give it kind on shining effect on the terrain on his base.
I added some red and brown flock to give it a kind of moldy impression. Guessing that the vegetation isn´t the best here but I wanted to have some more colors to make the base look better.

Hell had always been the greatest threats, brandished in the face of sinful souls just as heaven had always been promised to the good and pure…”

The miniature game of Hell Dorado is set in the war torn world of the 30years war. A great massacre of people in the town of Magdeburg leads to an opening of a portal to hell. The warring nations slowly start to understand what they have stumbled upon and a temporary truce is formed in the new settlement of New Jerusalem, the first European settlement in hell.

But this is no empty land, and others have been here before and the demon lords of hell is not fond of the newly arrivals. But the multi factional demon lords which has been at war with each other since the dawn of time has problem uniting in a common course to drive the Europeans out. They rather use this opportunity and try to trick the Europeans against their foes and old rivals.

Because of this a foothold is secured.

The newly arrivals tip the fragile balance and all hell brakes lose.
Some of the former slaves of the demon lords rebel, and the Ottomans are worried by this motion as they have travelled the lands of hell long before the Europeans and starts to muster in strength to face this new threat.
This is the world of Hell Dorado.

 

 

When I first laid my eyes on the first Hell Dorado miniature I was spell bound. They are gorgeous. I recently bought the rulebook, I don’t know if I will actually ever start to play the game but if the rules are anything like the models I knew I would be happy.

The rulebook is nicely written and I had a hard time not to keep reading the stories in it. 
Unfortunately I haven’t playtested it yet but by only reading it, it looks good.

I can recommend it just to have and look at all the pretty pictures if nothing else.
