French light infantry crusaders
I wanted a lighter infantry option for my French crusader force.
But the miniatures are rather generic painted so I can through them into about any medieval force without looking wrong.
The miniatures are a mixture but are mostly Conquest Games - Normans and Gripping Beast - Dark age warriors with some Fireforge - Sergeants heads.
This is also one of those units that have stood halfpainted since maybe Christmas so it feels good to finish them.
As I wanted a lowly standard unit I tried to keep the colours down and not highlight to bright. This will make this unit somewhat dull but will make the knight units pop even more.
In Lion Ramant I will use three bases and use wound markers, this for ease movement.

French Crusader knights
At last I got these French crusader knights ready for gaming.
I wanted the most part of them atleast, to belong to the house of Lusignan so I could use them as French knights, but also as knights of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. But I wanted some more variation of colours in the unit so not all of them beloung to the House of Lusignan

House of Lusignan-Vouvant
Counts of Jaffa and Ascalon
Lords of Vouvant
The commander of the unit. I just had to give him and old Bretonnia helmet to pay homage to those old knights.
And all together with my previusly painted French knights I can now muster this unit...
The Banner is from Michas excellent blog. Do visit him, he is a great guy with lots of nice stuff. Highly recommended. http://michasfiguren.blogspot.com/
More pictures of the other knights in the unit can be seen here: http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.se/2016/07/french-knights.html

French Crusading Serjeants
Next up for my Crusading French force is a small unit of Serjeants bearing the colours of the House of Lusignan http://wappenwiki.org/index.php/House_of_Lusignan
The miniatures are from Fireforge Games, one head is Gripping Beast and I used some of the foot Searjants bits like arms without chainmail, armed with spears and so on to get a lighter feel to these. To better differentiate them from the fully armoured knights.
I noticed that the lion on the banner is turned wrong side on one side of the banner but that will hardly be noticed on the gaming table, and hadnt I pointed that out here its unlikely any one would ever would had... hehe

French knights
Here are the first six of my French knights seen previously in an wip stage glued together and greenstuffed at: http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.se/2016/05/french-knights-work-in-progress.html
As the weather was somewhat good today I took some outdoors pictures. The light is so much better and it shows the details on the miniatures more in that way.
The miniatures are from Fireforge games but with some bits from other sources and as I mentioned some greenstuff for further variations.
Some of the heraldry on the knights is historical and some are just made up, reasoning that their must be countless numbers of noblemen that did not make it into the history books.
