Turnips for turnip28

I thought it was time for some new terrain for Turnip28, and so why not some monsterturnips...

Turnip Gallow

I got this 3d printed terrain piece from a friend and added a base and some extra sand for additional texture in some places before I painted it.

To make it a proper Turnip28 terrain piece I greenstuffed a poor sad turnip creature that seems to have a bad day...

Poor dude...

And here with some miniatures for added feeling.
I think it turned out great.

Walls for my Turnip28 village

I made some walls to my Turnip28 themed village.

They are made of styrophome that I glued to a thin masonit base and later covered with a mixture of woodglue, plaster and sand and a top of cardboard for the tiles. And later painted them with an airbrush to get that nice transitional colourvariations and then some weathering effects and some flock.

And here with some buildings and more soldiers in the village. I really like how the aesthetics turned out for this and wants to make even more terrain in this style in the future.

Turnip terrain

 
I call these done now.
They were really fun to build.
The rounded edges and lines. They look like they are taken right out of a Tim Burton movie.

These buildings are meant to be used in Turnip 28.
I wanted them to be built on a raised base to get the proper building above ground to keep it from getting wet from flooding.

And here with some miniatures for scale or get a better feeling, to give the pictures some more life.

White Scars casualties

 

I bought some 3d printed mk III marines casualties and painted them up as White Scars. The idea is to use them as terrain pieces or maybe objectives.
The table tops looks so much better with some scatter terrain to spice up the board.

The miniatures them selves have a little to rough shapes for my liking but as terrain pieces they will do.
I glued on some regular sand on the miniatures to make them even rougher and to take away some of the shapes from the print. To make the miniatures a little more interesting, but tried to keep it at a minimum to not take over.

I didnt give them that much highlight as I wanted them to look rather dull so they would not take the attentions away from the playing miniatures on the board, to make them blend in better with the background.
