Pygmy hunters

Another little after action report from a nice Palaeo Diet game.

This time I wanted to test out a little special special...
I covered an entire board with jungle terrain but had some area terrains representing clearings.
The miniatures we would be using was some pygmies from Wargames Foundry, from their Darkest Africa range: https://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collections/darkest-africa-african-tribal-warriors?page=1

I added some special rules for this game to make it more fitting for the theme.
All the pygmies had no trouble moving in the jungle, archers range was lowered from long to medium if the target was in jungle terrain to represent the poor view of the vegetation.

For the mission: The three players were set up two hunters each on one short side and had to kill three grazers in eight turns to get a victory in this game.

The hunters are running through the jungle to be able to catch the animals of the hunt.

In the end we didnt manage to catch the last kill before our eight turn was ended. We got two kills and a couple of wounded animals and we lost one of our hunters that got stampeded to the ground.
The animals fled towards our starting positions and we had been to eager to flank the animals that we didnt thought about having a stronger centre. We didnt use the ambush orders that I think could have been useful in this game and their is always the dicegods to blame.

Its really fun to see how the animals and the game mechanics behave and reacts.

But all in all, a really fun game.
