Black Powder AAR: France vs Austria

Last weekend my friend Tobias and I had a game of Black Powder with our growing Napoleonic forces.
My Frenchmen would be facing his Austrians.

We took what we had painted and deployed to the gaming table.

Im sure that we made tons of misstakes because it was a couple of years since we played Black Powder and then it was the first edition.

With all those Austrians cavalry on the table I thought it was just best to form squares with the infantry.

A farmstead with some civilians cought in the battle.

Austrian artillery opens fire.

Inflicting casuallties on a French square.

Austrian cavalry of the first line is cought in the crossfire.

French Light infantry engage with Austrian Jaegers.

A farmer looks on the Austrian lines as they advance.

French Chasseurs à cheval light cavalry charges the Austrian Jaegers.

Wow, what a game. We had a blast.
We made tons of misstakes but we learned a lot.

Im sure we will play lots more of Black Powder, I had almost forgotten how fun it was.

Napoleonic Savants

I painted some "Savants" from Perry miniatures, from their "French in Egypt" line.

The Savants were scholars and scientists acompanied the french forces in their Egyptian campaign.

These will fill the role of tabbletop bystanders, objective markers, models for skirmish games or just to add some extra flare to the games.

And together with the civilians I previously painted now got a small crowd of non combatants.

Napoleonic civilians

I painted some civilians for my Napoleonic collection.
The miniatures are from Perry miniatures.
They are intended to hand around on the gaming table to add extra details.
