Ulfheðinn

Ulfheðinn

Ulf = wolf
heðinn = 'jacket of fur or skin'

I just had to get me some wolfskins for this project. Berserker type of infantry that’s really a little earlier then most Viking age stuff, more belonging to the Vendel era here in Sweden. But Im sure more than one Odin cult survived long into what we usually refers to as the Viking age to justify me to use them.

The miniatures are from Gripping Beast and I mixed in some dogs also from the same manufacturer to give an even more vild and feral appearance of the unit.

Really nice miniatures that was lots of fun to paint.

While I was painting these I also made some empty rankfillers to fill up a movement base or just to break up the perfect ranking of an unit full of berserkers… Shown here on two different kinds of movement bases. Im not sure which if any I should use in the games to come.
