30K AAR, Solar Auxilia with Knights vs Iron Warriors

The House of Naryshkin had entered the Ajax System and was eager to search for its hidden riches.
It had lured Lord Marshal Alexandr of House Naryshkin because of its vast quantities of resources, materials and trading goods that is criminally ineffectively exploited it had lured him with its potentials.

For this expedition the Lord Marshal Alexandr had secured a small number of the Questoris Knights from the vast numbers of the Noble House of Naryshkins knights. He had instructed a small “comittiee” of the Honourable Eastern Fringe Trading Company of the task of the groundwork and the shipping. Proper license for this operation and additional Letter of marque was secured from Holy Terra itself.

After linking up with Loyalist forces in the region the Lord Marshal was patrolling the northern regions on one of the planets in the system.

The place was said to be haunted with ghosts and daemons, and the Lord Marshal him self and his troops started to feel the tension oozes in the region. (Special scenario rules that forces you to test moral on 3 dices and taking the 2 highest).

The House Naryshkins entry to this section of space was to be a rude awakening as the loyalist forces was ambushed from non other then the Primarch of the Iron Warriors, The hammer of Olympia, Perturabo...

This game was part of playtesting of scenarios for the Ajax II, Horus Heresy event taking place in Alvesta, Sweden.

Enemy forces encounter, battle formations.

Enemy drills from beneath.

Pertorabo and his Terminator bodyguards deepstrikes.

Enemy veteran squad dismounts and open up with ten combimelta shots..

And my Questoris Knight HQ is no more, and massive explosion is the result...

Atleast I took some of them with me in the ball of fire...

I just wanted to try... Charge...
Only one enemy Terminator is fallen for the cost of my knight... Damn..

Lord Marshal Alexandr charges the veteran, felling one and the rest of them tries to flee but are all cut down as the cowards they are...

My line is wearing thin...

My air support arrives.

Enemy knight stomps my left flank...

Lets charge this behemoth... How tough can Lord of Iron really be?

Pretty tough is the answer... I lost the combat and with the scenario rules of rolling 3 dices for moral and picking the highest 2 meant that all my three units engaged run and was all gunned down...

A grievous loss for House Naryshkin. Good thing more forces are deploying as we speak and this small recon in force group is just a small part of a larger picture.

But it was a really fun game.
