I have painted a unit of old Handmaidens of the Everqueen.
Unfortunately I didnt have the original standardbearer but i managed to convert a standard miniature to carry a larger banner and it worked out really nice.
The banner it self is handpainted.
This is the next unit to reveal in my larger Avelorn themed batch paint I just made.
I really like the sculpts and they were fun to paint.
These miniatures dont have any current rules so have have some different options to field them.
The easiest but most boring way would be to use them as 'count as' Lothern Seaguards without shields and call it done.
The funnier option would be to give them rules based on older edition of the game. Special rules I dont have any opinion on, same with their older stats. But weapons and armour I think should be updated to the current edition.
In this edition the Handmaidens of the Everqueen are a Character with a Handmaidens spear and a Bow of Avelorn.
So I think a unit of these would use the stats from previous edition but with with the special spear from the character to give them a special flare, an unique role.
I dont think they should be given the Bows of Avelorn as these would be similar to the Sisters of Avelorn. Its better to keep those units separated. These Handmaidens can keep the longbows.
The spears are not that special but its something to make them unique.
Or as a friend advise me, maybe use the Wood Elf Eternal guard rules.
Here under is a photo I took from an older Armybook in my collection.
