"White Scars" Recon Marines

 
Here we have some Recon marines for my "White Scars" Alpha Legioneers conduction operations far behind enemy lines.

My 1.0 edition army list of "White Scars" are not legal anymore so I will have to redo my list. The main theme were mechanised veteran infantry supported by Landspeeders and Sicaran tanks but I cant play that legally anymore. Im not sure anymore where I want them to be but adding some recon marines for extra troop choices with the Line rule to capture objectives seems like a good idea atleast.

The Recon marines can be equipped with a mixtures of small arms weaponry and by having a mixed squad you get a more of a special forces feel to them. I think that given all of the miniatures the same weapons to be better at a specific task is probably better game mechanic wise but this looks better.

I rearranged the legs of some of them to give those more movement. All of the miniatures have been given lots of bags, grenades or other equipment as I just love the miniatures to look as if they are in a warzone. I added skins or pelts out of greenstuff to show the more savage style of the barbarian White Scars.

I first painted the miniatures are regular Alpha Legions and then gave them a layer of chipping medium before repainted them as White Scars. Before I uses washes and shades I added lots of water to the surface on the miniatures and gently scrapped some chipping on them to reveal their true colours beneath...
